TESTING
VO2max- VO2max is a test we use to determine the maximum amount of oxygen your body can utilize at different work loads.  This test is done using a gas analyzer which measures the expired air and the oxygen left in it.  The test usually takes from 12 to 15 minutes and is done while the athlete is on the treadmill or bike wearing a mask with a hose connected to the analyzer.  This test will find VO2max, max HR, and Threshold.  This test is essential in prescribing training intensity levels for athletes.

Lactate Analysis- This test can be done in all three sports and requires 5-12 small drops of whole blood taken during the test via a finger prick or ear lobe prick.  This test not only finds the Lactate Threshold, but also the different levels of lactate in the whole blood at different workloads

Max Power Aerobic and Anaerobic- This test is done on the bike and will find the maximum amount of power (measured on watts) put out during anaerobic and aerobic bouts.

Resting Metabolic Rate (RMR)- This is the easiest test done, because it is done at rest.  This test determines the  exact amount of calories your body burns at rest, which can also be calculated to determine the amount of calories you burn at work.  This is and essential tool for weight loss, training, and amount of nutrition needed during the race.
